I previously wrote why I've chosen to live at home (click here to read that entry), but I can certainly understand why someone would wonder what exactly fills my day. To answer that question, I have decided to record my daily activities every few weeks and post them here on my blog to give a better idea of what a normal day for me is like. I began on Monday...

As you can see, you have to do some serious multi-tasking to keep your head above water in this household!
Of course I don't prepare "snack boxes" and "care packages" for relatives every afternoon. My afternoons are usually spent working on a business-related item. Some afternoons I'm a marketing manager mailing out hundreds of postcards or letters to potential clients. Some afternoons I'm a webmaster creating a new website or making changes to an old one. Some afternoons I'm a secretary responding to the many emails sent to us each day regarding the farm's products or tractor businesses' services. Some afternoons I'm a real estate agent faxing documents to other agents, or just answering my phone and responding to inquiries about properties. Many summer afternoons are spent driving a tractor bush hogging clients' lots. Some afternoons are spent baking cheesecakes for the restaurant, or just baking treats for my family. :)
Still other afternoons are spent washing milk jars, cooking dinner, folding laundry, tending to Sheridan's needs, or updating my blog or the family's blog.
I love being productive and can't imagine life any other way! Most of the daily tasks could be considered fairly menial and repetitive, but so are the tasks associated with many full-time careers. It is so much more exciting to have the opportunity to do such a variety of productive activities on your own time schedule and to be furthering your family's endeavors instead of working for a boss you hardly know.

Meredith, you are such a blessing to your family and I know you've developed your hard-working ethic from your incredibly busy and hard-working mom and dad! God Bless all of you. Carla Pruiett
Mere,
You are an inspriation to me. I know that you are a great value to your mom and dad. It takes alot of hands to keep that busy farm running! I am blessed by you :)~Mrs. T
Wow Mere! Great post! I had so much fun reading about your day! I love the picture of you and Sheridan. :)
ooh i keep meaning to ask you, i was talking to your mom about church awhile back and she mentioned that you do homechurch. that sounds so cool to me! i'd love to have more info on it! is it a certain denomination or non-denominational? do you have an appointed leader? you don't have to answer in the blog if you don't want to. you can always email me. :) moonprysm@hotmail.com
p.s. still interested in learning about the hope chest, too. hehe
and your cookies were great. they were gone before we got home!
Great post! Sounds like you are a real blessing to your parents. Hope you are having a great week! You've been on my mind recently!
Hi Meredith ~ I really enjoyed reading about your day! No wonder the guys missed you so much when you were sick awhile back! You do alot for them! Thanks for sharing.
Fun to get a peek into your busy day! There are definitely productive things to do as a stay-at-home daughter. I liked and agree with your last paragraph!
ah, wow! What a day! I so enjoyed reading that post. :-)
Your pigs looks soooo cute... I LOVE pigs, (yeah, everyone thinks I'm weird over here since I do. :-) ) But they are just so cute....
Have a fantastic afternoon!!
Hi Tiffani,
I'm glad y'all enjoyed the cookies. :) Is Zander feeling better now?
I haven't forgotten to write about my hope chest at all! Actually, I took everything out of it earlier this week, took pics, uploaded them, and saved it all as a draft, but now I just need to write to go along with the pictures. Hopefully toward the beginning of next week I will have it ready to post!
Our church does alternate between different families' homes. There are elders, but not necessarily 'appointed leaders'. Some of the men alternate teaching each week. Some of the families(including ours) come from a Baptist background, but there really is a variety, so I think it is considered non-denominational. Maybe I'll make a post about that some time soon too... Thanks for always giving me ideas for future entries!!
Hope you're having a great week. :)
Thank you Mrs. Pruiett! We think of your family often.
Thank you Mrs. Trent and Alli! I wish it was going to work out for me to help y'all at the Pregnancy Center this week. See y'all on Sunday!
Hey Liz!! I can't wait to hear from you again!! Hope you have a great weekend. :)
Thanks Mrs. Girotti and Hannah! Hannah, have you been selling many cards yet??? I look forward to hearing how it goes for you. I hope y'all have a great weekend!
Hi Beth Nell!!!
You love pigs??? Hmm... that's a little strange!
I saw on your blog that Zach proposed to his girlfriend! How exciting! Is she still hoping to have the wedding at y'all's pretty home??
Thanks for the comment!
WOW Meredith I got tired just reading what all you do in a day! I remember those stay at home days! I often told people that I needed a job just to get some rest! But I wouldn't trade the years i stayed home with kids for anything! Now I just struggle with trying to work and get some of the house stuff done! Unfortunately I didn't do as good of a job raising my children as your mom and dad did you and your siblings-mine are a tad bit lazy and spoiled! Some days I feel like why even bother! But it is so encouraging to hear that there are families like y'alls out there! God Bless you all for your good work and praise that you bring to Him!
Mrs. Connie
Thanks for your kind and encouraging comment, Mrs. Connie! I hope you had a great weekend!
I remember when I was home "doing nothing" before I got married. Yes, serving your family and God can keep one really busy!
