New Quilt

Earlier this week, I finished a new throw quilt! This is my second quilt (my first was the baby quilt posted here). I made the entire quilt out of old fabric remnants my grandmother and mom gave me, excluding the baby blue floral border (I had to buy this fabric to pull together the other colors). I am so glad to have it finished and am already looking forward to beginning the next one!

Mere, your quilt is beautiful! What does a "throw" quilt mean? I love the colors too!!! Hope to see you soon, and tell mama Hi.~love Mrs. T

Hi Mrs. Trent! I just finished emailing Alli when I saw your comment.

It's just a quilt that you could throw over a chair as deco of bundle up with on a cold day-- not like a bedspread-- so I guess that's where the name came from. :)

Hi Meredith! The quilt looks really nice! I like the floral border surrounding the solids and stripes. How did you bind all 3 layers together? Machine quilting? Hand quilting? I am making Abram a dog quilt for his bed...I am now hand quilting the 3 layers together. I can't quite get the hang of machine quilting!!

That is great that you could use those old fabrics passed down to make into something new! I have a bunch of old fabrics, too, which aren't my favorite by themselves, but maybe made into a quilt they would turn out better. Time for some creativity! Looks like you did a good job of pulling the colors together.
