Finally Moved to the New Farm :)

On Friday, the cows were moved over to the new farm, so now we are all officially living here! I am so glad and especially hopeful that our lives will settle down soon. We (or at least Mama and I) still have the goal of having the interior and exterior complete (unpacked, decorated, painted, landscaped) by July 4 (less than two weeks away!).
Milkings are going slightly faster because the boys are bringing all of the cows (we have 8 cows milking right now) into the barn's stanchions and going from one cow to the next with the milking equipment. We used to have to bring them into our small, makeshift milking barn one at a time.Elliott hooking one up to the milking machine:Gertrude was being stubborn and didn't want to come in with the rest of the girls: Elliott in the temporary clean room processing the milk: Sweet Sheridan sitting in the milking barn:
The cows and calves look so happy grazing on such green pastures! "The Lord will greatly bless His people. Wherever they plant seed, bountiful crops will spring up. Their cattle and donkeys will graze freely." Isaiah 32:20

It looks beautiful, Meredith. I imagine that your brothers appreciate the fact that milking doesn't take so long now.
Blessings,
Laura

I'm so excited for y'all! And don't forget that we can come help out with something if you need help making that July 4th deadline. The cows do look happy! :) I love watching animals graze on thick grass, it is so satisfying somehow.

Yay! That is so exciting! God designed this farm so perfectly for your family! I wish we were still down there and could get milk from you guys.

And if you need any tiling done, let me know cause me and my brothers and dad have done a lot of it together, and I'm going to be in your area in the next few weeks and would love to do it.

Thanks Laura, Abigail, Anna, and Hannah! :)

Abigail and Anna, thanks for offering to help-- that's really sweet of both of you!

Abigail, are you trying to put your spiritual gifts to work (haha)? ;) I am sooo sore from yesterday's volleyball! I don't know why... :)

Anna, didn't your family move toward Charlottesville? We deliver milk in Charlottesville on Fridays. Have y'all found someone else to get your milk from?

Haha, I guess so! :P

I'm sore too! Those rain dances do tend to take a lot out of you! ;) I was feeling all the volleyball muscles yesterday, and then yesterday I also weeded the garden and walked 4 miles with Daddy, so I feel about 70 years old this morning. :D

We live about an hour from Charlottesville, so we could, but it's a pretty far trip to go once a week, and we don't go in that direction often. We have found a farm nearby that sells milk from a dairy in PA. It's not raw, but its fresh and non-homogonized and in glass jars. And we're getting fresh eggs from them until our chickens start laying in September!
