Ice Cream Cake (my grandmother's recipe)
~1 stick of butter
~1 package of Oreos (for my brothers' birthdays, they sometimes choose the coffee Oreos or mint Oreos to try something different)
~1/2 gallon of ice cream (any flavor-- sometimes we do half of one flavor and the other half a different flavor)
~1 Cool Whip/whipped topping (we rarely use the Cool Whip brand, but usually just get whatever is cheapest)
~1 hot fudge (homemade is really good, but store-bought hot fudge works great also)
Crush Oreos and melt butter. Stir together and press on the bottom of a 9x13 pan. Spread ice cream and pour hot fudge over the ice cream. Immediately put in freezer. Let freeze for several hours, then add the Cool Whip layer. You can use leftover crushed Oreo crumbs to 'decorate' the top. Enjoy!

That looks heavenly!!
Yummy! I was going to have an ice cream cake for my birthday last month, but I ended up having cheesecake from Sam's Club. It was still good, though! :)
Oh Meredith, that looks and sounds DELICIOUS! :)
Here is a cake I have made for my kids. It taste just like fried icecream you could get at Chi-Chi's
Use a 9 by 13 pan put vanilla icecream on the bottom. Let the icecream get soft to make it easier to spread then put a layer of crushed up Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, then another layer of icecream, then top it with cereal. When you serve it you can top it with coolwhip, honey or chocolate.
Hi Meredith,
That looks lovely! We will have to make one! (: Have a great Sunday!
That sounds really good, Mrs. Kim! I'll have to try it sometime. We just bought Cinnamon Toast Crunch tonight, so I need to get some vanilla ice cream.
That looks good Meredith! My family and I cheat making our ice cream cake! We layer cool whip, hershey's chocolate sauce and ice cream sandwiches!! Love You!
