The Wedding: The Ceremony

Sheridan was very careful in her flower girl responsibility, sweetly dropping just one flower at a time!
My little friend, Andie, ringing her bell as she walked down the aisle

"Here comes the bride..."

Arriving at the altar

We chose "Non Nobis Domine" (Psalm 115:1 in Latin) to be sung by a soloist during the ceremony.

We also chose two favorite hymns for the congregation to sing, "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" and "Great Is Thy Faithfulness."

We desired for the ceremony to be very God-honoring and had a lot of prayer and scriptures interspersed throughout the service.

"With this ring I thee wed..."
"You may now kiss the bride..."

What a lovely wedding. Will you share with us (at some point) some of the thoughts that were running through your mind at the special moments?

Really beautiful church by the way... being as I'm in heritage, I'm curious about its history. I suspect its a late 19th century gothic revival but this is Virginia, not Ontario where I would be more certain.

But the area behind the pulpit reminds me of a church here in town that was built in the 1830's and renovated in the 1870's and looks very similar to this.

Sorry, sorry, I'm geeking out, aren't I? I'll restrain myself now...

Looking forward to the reception pics! :)
